Our 9th annual fundraiser dinner contributes funds to help us continue our tradition of providing outstanding, world-class education to children in our community. The support McMinnville Montessori School receives in donations, supplements the school budget, enriches the learning environment, funds the music, language and arts programs, and helps with any improvements to the school.

For 9 years, Nick's has been the site of our Winemaker's Fundraiser Dinner.
Opened by Nick Peirano in 1977, the James Beard Award winning Nick's Italian Cafe is now run by his daughter Carmen and acts as the town’s unofficial clubhouse for local winemakers. The menu features family recipes passed down through three generations, created with fresh local ingredients.

Scott and Lisa Neal started Coeur de Terre over a decade ago in the spring of 1998. Their belief is that great Pinot is made in the vineyard. This is why the only Pinot Noir from Coeur de Terre comes from their estate vineyard, where they have total control at every step of the growing process.
We believe in working sustainably with nature to create a healthy environment for our vines and family and are fanatical about growing grapes and optimizing their potential to make noteworthy wine.
A to Z Wineworks was started in 2002 by Oregon wine industry veterans: Deb Hatcher (Eyrie), Bill Hatcher (Domaine Drouhin Oregon), Sam Tannahill (Archery Summit) and Cheryl Francis (Chehalem). The two couples worked in the Hatcher's kitchen to build the original blend honored by Food & Wine magazine as the Best American Pinot Noir under $20. In 2006, the group welcomed another Oregon wine veteran, Michael Davies, as winemaker and partnered with Gregg Popovich (Coach of the San Antonio Spurs) to buy REX HILL Vineyards and Winery (established in 1982). Recognition for A to Z wines as offering dependable quality for great value continues today and A to Z is the top-selling Oregon wine brand. A to Z Oregon Pinot Noir has twice been named to Wine Spectator’s Top 100 wines of the year; A to Z Oregon Pinot Gris is a perennial Best Buy; and A to Z Oregon Chardonnay is America’s Best Selling Oregon Chardonnay.
Representing A to Z at our dinner is Michael Davies. A New Zealander by birth (and inclination) is the winemaker for both REXHILL and A to Z Wineworks. Holding this position since 2006, he brings to it his unique form of intensity, precision and sincerity. Prior to that he managed the vineyards and assisted in winemaking for five years at Chehalem Winery after completing post graduate degrees in viticulture and oenology and gaining experience through numerous vintages in both Northern and Southern Hemispheres. He and wife, Anna Matzinger, a premier winemaker in her own right, also have a private label: Matzinger Davies Wine Company.
Founded by Jack Kemp, his wife Willie and their son A.J. in 2007, Hawks View Winery produces Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir from our sustainably-farmed vineyards located in the Chehalem Mountains AVA in the northern Willamette Valley. In the summer of 2017, Ponte Family Estate became the new owner of Hawks View. As operators of a fellow family-owned winery, the Ponte family maintains Hawks View’s focus on crafting exceptional wine and providing an authentic guest experience
Representing Hawks View at our dinner is Winemaker, Don Crank; scientist by training and a passionate winemaker. After graduating from Purdue University with a degree in biochemistry and food science, he discovered his love of wine- specifically, Oregon’s phenomenal Pinot Noir. With more than 16 years of experience in the winemaking world, Don considers winemaking to be an art; each wine a culmination & an expression of the place in which it was grown.
Pouring for Walter Scott is husband and wife team Erica Landon and Ken Pahlow. The formation of Walter Scott Wines in 2008 marked the launch of their dream in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Their first vintage, La Combe Verte Pinot Noir, was produced in 2009 and in 2011 Walter Scott began making Chardonnay, contributing significantly to both their growing production and group of loyal followers. In 2012, just before harvest, Ken and Erica invited Sue and Andy Steinman to the Walter Scott team contributing legal knowledge, business skill, and unskilled harvest labor to Ken and Erica's endeavor to make outstanding wine. In 2014, both Ken and Erica said goodbye to their additional employment to focus entirely on Walter Scott Wines.
Our vineyard philosophy focuses on the cultivation of exceptional relationships with the land, our grapes and the people who tend them. We thoughtfully select the vineyards we work with. Our passion for old vines, clonal diversity and expressive microclimates are well represented in each individual site. The quality of grapes and location are just as important to us as the relationships we have formed throughout our lives and careers.
It started as the best conversations do: over a good bottle of wine. Two couples (the Browns and the Nagys) with a shared passion bordering on obsession- at the table are two devoted winemakers, a wine-industry expert and a corporate executive. The talk turns in a direction only dreamers and visionaries take: What if we made and sold our own wines? What resulted is a partnership dedicated to exquisite wine. NagyBrown is about making wine exactly the way we want to. No outside influences. No preconceived notions. Just exquisite wines, the way we envisioned them.
Presenting their Pinot Noir at our dinner is Kate Payne Brown and Griffin Brown, winemakers/co-owners. Kate’s career started when she volunteered at a small winery one summer. Winemaking’s intriguing mix of science and intuition quickly inspired her to earn a master’s degree in oenology from the University of Adelaide in Australia. She subsequently has been a winemaker at both Archery Summit and Stoller Family Estate. Griffin has worked his way up in the wine world, picking up a wealth of knowledge on the intricacies of fine wine, starting with his own international education in South Australia making world-class wines, then back stateside, at Domaine Serene and Wine by Joe.
Lauren Eisold, Co-owner/Grower: Lauren received her postgraduate degree in Oenology and Viticulture in Weinsberg, Germany, focusing on cool-climate Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. She has farmed grapevines for prominent estates from South Africa to California. Today she practices Biodynamic, organic and sustainable viticulture. Lauren has honed her personal philosophy of two guiding principles: Listen to the vineyard and support biodiversity.
First planted in 1971 by four families working together (the Kreimeyers, Markleys, Welches, and Trenhailes), the vineyard spans over 200 acres with roughly 180 acres under vine; making it one of Oregon's oldest and largest vineyards. Owner and winemaker Laurent Montalieu practices a "land not hand" philosophy. “We have always believed in making wines that reflect the ground in which they’re rooted. With its self-rooted, unique varietals this historic vineyard offers the ultimate expression of terroir.
Presenting Hyland Estates at our dinner will be Robert Moshier; General Manager. Growing up with dreams of exploration, Robert packed up his car and headed west. Following the thread of adventure, and fully in the thralls of mountain exploration, Robert landed in Oregon and felt home. He combined his degree in production and operations management with an interest in winemaking and launched his career with Laurent Montalieu at Hyland Estates and Westmount.
