Fundraising for Shop Local

Fundraising News

Dear Families,
The 2017 Winter "Shop Local" Gift Certificate Fundraiser has begun! Linda at Hopscotch has organized another chance for us to support our local businesses and for them to help their local schools.

How does this work?
We are selling $10 gift certificates to local businesses including:

  • Third Street Books
  •    Yamhill Valley Dry Goods
  •    Accessory Appeal
  •    Mes Amies
  •    Incahoots
  •    Crescent Cafe
  •    Serendipity
  •    La Bella Casa
  •    3rd Street Pizza
  •    The Diner
  •    Hopscotch Toys
  •    R Stuart Wines
  •    El Rancho Market

You/family/friends/neighbors pay $10, you get the $10 gift certificate, you get to buy $10 worth of goods from these vendors. On the other side of things, the vendors are donating $2 from each gift certificate to our school. Great deal!

Please have your kids ask your neighbors and family members; it is a great opportunity for them to share their Montessori experience.  Please also consider bringing the order sheets to your place of work.

There are lots of opportunities for gift giving coming up with all of the Winter Holidays and Winter birthdays on the way.

Please turn in your orders and money November 28, 2017, (that's a Tuesday). We should get the certificates delivered to the school on December 13, 2017.

Thank you for your dedication!

Big shout out to Gavin's mom Erin for fixing both the exit doors in the Garden Room.

Thank you for all the wonderful support. We appreciate the time and energy you give our sweet school.

Please know that I am always available for a phone call, a chat, a sweet moment to share, to hear how we always have room to do better and a compliment.

No school on Friday, November 10 so we’re going bowling! We would love for any McMinnville Montessori students, along with parents and siblings, to join us at Walnut City Lanes from noon to 1pm - it’s $7.50 per person for two games and shoes, and Shazia can add the total to your next bill. Please let me know if you have any questions and if you’d like to join us (and, if so, how many will be coming/bowling), we need to finalize our number by Wednesday, November 8th. Thanks! Sean P. Dear Families, I look forward to seeing you all tonight for the Parent Education evening from 5:30- 7 pm. The guides take a lot of time to prepare a topic to share with you. The Forest Room is discussing the Road to Literacy, the Garden Room will be discussing the Role of the Adult, and the Meadow Room will be taking you on a journey of Fractions. So exciting!

I apologize for the delayed update on the photographer for our school pictures. I found a new photographer who has come highly recommended to us by another Montessori school. It is Thistledown Photography, and her name is Alison Smith. The date is set for October 30th with a back up date of November 3rd. She will come in to take pictures, and bring back proofs and an order form that I will give to each of you. Depending on how you like them, you can order them. She will also be doing sibling photos. I will send a reminder out close to the date.

I am still looking for a parent to lead up our Pie Sale, and to trim our front bushes, please. Thank you!

Reminder that Halloween is a regular day for us at school, no costumes, no candy in lunches. All the fun can be saved for after school.

Today is the last day to order t shirts. Thank you all for your orders.

Reminder: We have families that raise chickens and sell eggs. If you bring eggs to us you receive $4 that get deducted from your fundraising commitment, and if you buy eggs your money is also counted towards your fundraising commitment. We have three dozen in the fridge right now. Come and get some fresh eggs!

Big shout out to Zion's mom for making some beautiful aprons for the Meadow Room.
